At just 20 years old, Malayna has already faced more than most. After being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, she continued pushing forward with strength and determination, staying focused on school at Michigan State University and working hard toward her goal of becoming a teacher. Her journey has been marked by resilience, hope, and a deep appreciation for the people closest to her.
In March 2025, Malayna entered remission, marking a powerful turning point in her journey. Just a few months later, in June 2025, her wish brought her and her family to Newport Beach, California. Traveling with her parents and two sisters, she finally had the chance to slow down, breathe in the ocean air, and enjoy uninterrupted time together.
Days were spent swimming, playing in the sand, and soaking up the sunshine. A visit to Disneyland added extra fun and laughter, creating memories the family will cherish for years to come. What made this wish especially special was the togetherness. For Malayna, being at the beach with her sisters, sharing laughter in the waves, and simply enjoying each other’s company was exactly what she needed.
In January 2026, Malayna celebrated an incredible milestone: one year cancer free. Her wish trip offered a meaningful pause during a challenging season and a chance to reconnect as a family. After everything she has endured, the experience gave her space to relax, recharge, and celebrate how far she has come.
Malayna’s story is a reminder that healing isn’t only physical. Sometimes, the most powerful moments come from shared experiences, quiet joy, and time spent with the people who matter most.
