Max has a very rare auto-immune disease called Relapsing Polychondritis (RP). This disease attacks the cartilage in his body. He was diagnosed with RP back in October 2008 and has been fighting it like a champ ever since! After 4 years and 10 drug trials to try to treat RP, Max could not defeat its severe symptoms. Max will have an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in November 2012.
Max and his family were able to enjoy a long weekend in New York City, see a Broadway play, and have his wish come true to meet Alicia Keys!!
